Description

The direct and umbrella contracting is a complex arena that many misunderstand and sadly many negotiation companies don't even understand well. This leads to many offices DIY or utilizing negotiation companies that achieve minimal results. The expected results for using umbrella contracts and true negotiations is to have fee structures that are only a 15-20% discount from average full fees in the area. As a quick point that means a D2740 crown code that is above the $1,000 in-network fee rate, and every other fee being just as proportionally high. If your fees are not this high, it is time to make a change! This course will review the process, help clarify the complexity, and provide solutions on how to get higher fees (and sometimes much higher fees) in-network as well as how to evaluate any negotiation company that is offering their services.

Modules

1. Introduction

Are you tired of dealing with low network fees? Have you ever found yourself unexpectedly in-network with a new insurance company without signing a contract? Most dentists end up in-network through direct contracts, yet fee schedules have remained largely unchanged for 40 years. Negotiating as an individual office might yield a 2-5% increase if you're lucky. This session explores what network leasing and umbrella plans are, and more importantly, how to leverage them to achieve a 20-50% increase in your network fee schedules. If your crown fee is under $1,000, this information is essential.
