Please note that this course is a combined, updated version of two courses: “Providing Upgraded and Cosmetic Services In-Network” and “Understanding Insurance with Aligners and Other Orthodontic Care.” It also includes a new component on billing for lasers.

Today's dental practices offer a growing number of advanced treatment options that improve patient outcomes—but many of these services also involve additional clinical time, technology, laboratory expenses, and material costs. Whether incorporating lasers into periodontal therapy, using premium restorative materials, providing aligner therapy, or offering cosmetic enhancements, practices often struggle to understand what can and cannot be charged when dental insurance is involved.

This course provides a practical, sound framework for billing upgraded services while remaining compliant with insurance contracts and applicable regulations. Participants will learn how to interpret common contract language, identify situations where patient financial responsibility is appropriate, and confidently communicate treatment options that allow patients to choose enhanced levels of care.
